We interviewed our stunning Campaign Model for 2017 – Leanne Maskell:
What was your favorite swimsuit from the shoot?
My favourite swimsuit was the Lace Up 1 Piece , I’m obsessed with all things blue and white and it’s such a beautiful print!
What did you think of Byron?
I fell completely and utterly in love with Byron, I spent a few days there and went surfing, met some amazing people and ate some incredible food! The shops are great and I love how much music and art is everywhere, especially the live drumming on the beach at sunset. Everyone there is so relaxed and happy, it’s not hard to see why – it’s a beautiful part of the world.
What was your favorite part of the shoot?
The entire shoot was amazing, I was so lucky. My favourite part was probably shooting on the beach at The Pass, I went there whilst on holiday a few years ago and felt so grateful to be able to be back in the same spot for work. The sun was shining, the people were great and the swimsuits were amazing, can’t ask for much more!
When did you start modelling? What got you into it?
I started when I was 13 living in Cyprus, my mum signed me up to an agency there and the next week I was shooting a campaign in the mountains that was featured in Vogue UK. When I moved to London for University I was scouted in Westfield, and it’s just gone from there.
You’re originally from England but having being doing some modeling here in Australia. What made you come here and why do you love it so much?
I came to Australia in January, I was supposed to go to New York but wanted a bit of sunshine first. I love being by the ocean, and living in Bondi has been like living in paradise. I fell in love with the beautiful beaches, amazing people and laid back lifestyle. The work has been amazing too, I’ve been really lucky to work with some really talented designers and photographers in some stunning locations. The food and coffee in Australia is also unbeatable, I’m really missing smashed avo being back in London!
How do you stay in shape to be bikini ready all the time?
I really like finding fun ways of working out, as I get bored running on a treadmill. Australia has been a great place to stay fit, I’ve been doing everything from mermaid swimming lessons in the ocean to weekly dancing in the dark classes. I also went to an amazing gym called Elixr and did a lot of classes there, my favourite was wall yoga where you hang upside down!
One Piece or Bikini?
I would normally say a Bikini to avoid tan lines, but having recently got into surfing One Pieces are more convenient!
