We had a fun day on set with our Hair & Make-up artist Paul Bedggood. He’s launched makeup companies such as Givenchy Australia and Face of Australia, and worked on leading hair brand commercials including Sunsilk Asia/Australia, Pantene Asia & Hairdressers Formula.
We asked Paulie some questions to
What’s your favourite part of your job?
I have many favourite parts of my job, but first and for most is making someone up from head to toe and thus bringing the joy to their lives which brings the joy to mine and has kept me going strong for the last 20 years, also love that everyday is different, different location, different job and a full mix of fabulous peeps, am just as passionate now if not more than when I started.
What 3 make up items should no woman leave the house without?
A good silky foundation for a quick touch up when needed, I use Chanel Vitalumiere and love it, a good translucent powder for those hot sweaty days, and a good lip balm to keep lips hydrated, I use 100% lanolin.
What has been the biggest challenge of your work?
Part of the challenge is adapting to different skin and hair types and different briefs each day, but for me I wouldn’t call it a challenge as I love what I do and it excites me.
If you weren’t a hair and make up artist, what would you be doing?
This is a hard one as I have done my gig since I was 15yrs old and always wanted to do it and love it, but if I had to choose I would be a publican like my Papa as is very social with long hours like what I do now and I also love Beer #justsayin.
What makes you different from others in the field?
I am Paulie #thefullpackage.
What’s the answer to perfect beach make up?
Dewy Foundation that breathes well you know what I like #chanel , bronzey earthy tones on the eyes, bronzed cheeks with gorgeous highlights on top of cheek bones, bridge of nose and top middle bit just above the lips, so the sun hits you in all the right spots creating the beautiful beach babe look.
